A close-up view of four dead birds (also seen in Fig. 6), partly enclosed in salt, right on the edge of the Gaet’ale spring lake. Thelargest bird, in the centre, is a black-headed heron (Ardea melanocephala). The other birds cannot be positively identified, but are probably ravens or swifts
